This occurred after quarterback Diego Pavia took over, as he is 4-1 as the Aggies' starter. This will be a competitive matchup against Bowling Green, but look for New Mexico State to complete its strong finish. Take the Aggies.

Quick Lane Bowl from Detroit. If you are going to face an option offense, best to do it in a bowl game so you have a few weeks to prepare. NMSU isn't even supposed to be bowl eligible because two of its six wins are against non-FBS teams -- who knew Valparaiso had a football program? -- but the NCAA gave the Aggies a waiver. Both schools should be plenty motivated as the Falcons are in their first bowl game since 2015 and the Aggies their first since 2017. Just a quick bus ride for BGSU. I've read a couple stories saying that NMSU QB Diego Pavia entered the portal but I don't believe that is accurate.
