Texas Tech finally gets a break in its schedule. The Red Raiders (3-3) play their first unranked team since the season opener against Murray State. They also play their first home game since upsetting No. 22 Texas in Lubbock. (Texas Tech is 3-0 at home and 0-3 on the road.) I also like that the Red Raiders are coming off a bye week. There's uncertainty about who will start at quarterback, but that's a good thing. Texas Tech has three good signal-callers, and Behren Morton looks like a future NFLer. Whoever starts will face a West Virginia defense that has allowed 378.5 passing yards per game over the last two contests. I'm on the Red Raiders.
Look, unless I only handicapped there's just no way I can be on top of the weather for every college football game. But now I know why this total dropped from an open of 72 (when I see huge drops like that, then I do investigate) because the forecast for Lubbock on Saturday: Winds W at 20 to 30 mph and could occasionally gust over 40 mph. OK, then. That should obviously slow Tech's pass-heavy attack. WVU should be run heavy with top back CJ Donaldson returning from injury and mixed in with Tony Mathis Jr., who rushed for 163 yards and two scores last time out vs. Baylor.
