Texas-TCU is always a tough game to pick given Gary Patterson just seems to have some magic dust when facing the Longhorns. But this Horned Frogs team is nowhere near as defensively dominant as his squads have been in the past, and getting a couple players back is not going to fix the fact that the rest of the team seemingly can't tackle. With Casey Thompson at quarterback, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian has found a spark. The loss to Arkansas is far more understandable when you look at it now, and the 21 points the 'Horns scored against one of the nation's top defenses are the most of any Hogs opponent so far this season. Though it won't be dominant, it will be high-scoring, and Texas should cover the number.

No doubt Texas’ offense is aflame. With the switch to QB Casey Thompson, the ‘Horns have piled up 128 points in the prior two games. And neither defense has been rock-ribbed. But the Horned Frogs are counting on three starting D-linemen and other contributors returning from injury rehab. The last nine encounters in this series have resulted in totals below this figure, and projected rain can contribute to extending that run.
