Not only has Arizona lost 12 straight games, the Wildcats have been blown out in many of those games; just four of those games were decided by 11 points or fewer. Arizona's average margin of defeat in those 12 games is 21.4. Maybe new coach Jedd Fisch can turn things around, but he will need some time to acquire the talent level to compete with a team like BYU. Despite losing quarterback Zach Wilson, the Cougars still has superior talent, such as running back Tyler Allgeier, who rushed for 1,130 yards and 13 touchdowns in his first year as a starter and will be running behind a line with seven players who have starting experience. Much respect to Jedd Fisch for doing his best in Tucson during the offseason, taking on his first head-coaching job following a winless 2020 for the Wildcats. He’s got former Arizona greats on the coaching staff, Tedy Bruschi as an advisor and Rob Gronkowski promoting Arizona pride, but the talent and experience isn’t there.
