Dartmouth's 88-49 blowout of Cornell at Hanover on February 15 simply didn't figure. The Big Red couldn't have played much worse in the first half, down 44-18 at the break, and a normally hot-shooting Cornell (fourth nationally in FG accuracy at 49.8%) shot as if blindfolded, especially behind the arc from where it hit only 3 of 27. Overall, it was decidedly poor 27.8% FGs. Note that the Big Red didn't have too much trouble with the Big Green at Ithaca on January 31, easing to a 76-64 win, but it's the revenge angle that has us especially interested after Cornell has brought out the hammer lately, hitting 100 points in consecutive games and a win margin of 26.3 pg. Play Cornell (Ivy at Providence)
Big number, I know -- there is a -190 floating out there (probably not for long), just not a book I can use here; always shop around -- but still think this is light (our model has Cornell by 10 for a reference) and don't care about price if I believe the books are off a bit. Value is value. Cornell is the No. 2 seed in Ivy Madness, which is how every conference tournament should be run with just the top four over two days, and has won four straight while averaging nearly 95.0 points per. Cornell leads the country in effective field goal percentage and is among the top six in assists, 3-point field goals made, field goal percentage and scoring offense.
