This Texas Tech team has an interesting quirk in that it’s adjusted offensive efficiency and shooting numbers (3-point, 2-point and free throws) are worse at home in conference play in comparison to its season-long averages. And while that sample set includes Iowa State, it’s not as though the rest of the home slate has provided a bevy of lockdown defensive teams anywhere close to the caliber of Houston. Now the Cougars have their own offensive challenges when LJ Cryer hero ball isn’t working, so Texas Tech could still get the regular season series sweep with a lower-scoring defensive-led effort. I just don’t see the Red Raiders replicating the 72-point performance in regulation that powered their win in Houston earlier this month.
