Michigan just played the Trojans on the West Coast, so they haven’t had to travel. However, USC’s defense is not as efficient as the Bruins. Michigan has struggled with turnovers this entire season and now face the best team in the country in forcing turnovers. The Bruins are off a loss at Nebraska and have lost two of their last three games. The Wolverines want a fast-paced game, utilizing the pick and roll, which will lead right into the UCLA defense.
Still unsure of the status of UCLA's 6-8 Ok State transfer wing Eric Dailey, who recently scored 18 in the win over Gonzaga but was missing on Saturday at Nebraska due to a facial injury (Dailey had worn a goalie mask in preceding games), an absence that cost the Bruins in Lincoln. Still, even with Dailey, not sure UCLA can carry this number against Dusty May's surging Michigan that has lost just two games by three points total (vs. Arkansas and Oklahoma) since the first week of the season. In a current three-game surge vs. capable opposition (IPFW, Western Kentucky, and USC), the Wolverines are scoring 96 ppg, winning each of those by double-digit margins (heavy double digits in two of those). Play Michigan
I love this spot for UCLA. Michigan is traveling to the West Coast for the second time in four days after defeating USC over the weekend. UCLA returns home following a loss to Nebraska and I like the matchup. Michigan can be sloppy with the basketball and the Bruins rank No. 1 in turnover percentage. Michigan has scored over 80 points in six straight games but they haven't seen anything like UCLA's vice grip defense. Eric Dailey Jr. missed the loss to Nebraska but it sounds like it was a one-game absence. The Bruins don't shoot free throws well so hard cutoff at -3. Try to get -2 or less.
