This Arizona Wildcats team is loaded as they picked up star guard Caleb Love from North Carolina. I am not a huge believer in this Duke team. Outside of Kyle Filipowski, this is not an elite team. The Wildcats guards should be able to do whatever they want in this game while Oumar Ballo protects the paint. Getting the Wildcats at this price is great.
Maybe Duke actually will have won this and many other games this season when Kyle Filipowski decided to stick around for another year before entering the NBA; the 7-foot soph suggested he is ready to live up to the expectations by scoring 25 points in 27 minutes of the opening rout past Dartmouth. But Jon Scheyer has augmented the new Blue Devils edition with another crop of pre-cooked diaper dandies, with frosh perimeter weapons Caleb Foster and Jared MCain looking like they are ready to make immediate contributions, while savvy sr. PG Jeremy Roach will be one of the last on-court links back to Coach K. Arizona doesn't slow the pace, so getting to the mid 150s would be no surprise. Play UA-Duke Over
Oh boy. Arizona's Tommy Lloyd loves to play fast, and his teams know how to score. Their average pace over the past two years is 72 and they were #7 and #10 offensively in Lloyd’s first two season. Their defense lagging slightly behind, ranking in the low to upper 20’s. Duke's Jon Scheyer is now in his 2nd year as the head guy at Duke, he has a very deep and very talented team. Scheyer has the players to go up tempo this year. They were 40th in offensive efficiency last year but look for them to be in the top five this year.
Possible Final Four preview and ... checking ... yep in Durham and not a neutral site. If I had been a star high school basketball player and offered a scholarship anywhere, my three finalists would have been Michigan State and these two. Always followed them. The Cats will be excellent per usual but it might take some time with four starters gone from last year. The Blue Devils are unbelievably loaded with four starters back and the nation's No. 2 recruiting class. Big man Mark Mitchell missed the opener with an ankle injury, but Jon Scheyer says he's on track to play. Only like this if so. The Blue Devils haven’t lost at Cameron since Coach K’s final home game in 2022.
