So liked the Red Wings on Thursday at home playing a team (Pittsburgh) in the second of a road back-to-back, but it didn't matter squat. If the entire NHL season is going to be like that (illogical), not good. Same scenario here for the Blues as they were pushed to OT last night in a win at San Jose after a monster comeback and played without top-six forward Alexandre Texier. Sure seems like a tough spot tonight. Vegas is 4-1 in the past five meetings.
Stop the season! The Blues are already 2-0 with victorious stops in Seattle and San Jose on this opening swing thru the Pacific Time Zone. The latter win hardly seemed likely last night when the Sharks held a 4-1 lead after the second period, but St Louis finally leveled the score with 47 seconds to play on a Justin Faulk goal before notching the win 45 seconds into OT on Brayden Schenn's goal. Meanwhile, Vegas looked midseason sharp in throttling the Avs 8-4, with a healthy Mark Stone available and scoring twice, but Bruce Cassidy's lineup oozes with playmakers as aside from Stone, Ivan Barbashev and newly-added Victor Oloffson also scored two goals each. Clearing five goals is within reach. Play Blues-Golden Knights "Over"
