Bears vs. Steelers NFL injury report, spread, odds: Why Najee Harris will win Offensive Rookie of the Year with 115 yards, TD

History says Pittsburgh running back Najee Harris will win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year if he hits certain benchmarks Monday vs. Chicago.

The lowest total for any NFL Week 9 game is for its last one as the Chicago Bears visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night to wrap up the week. The Over/Under is just 39 points and bettors at Caesars Sportsbook are essentially split on that. Meanwhile, history says that if Pittsburgh's Najee Harris totals 115 yards from scrimmage and scores a touchdown that he will win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Harris entered Week 9 as a +1000 third-favorite on that prop. Click here for model picks on Monday's game.

The total for Monday's game opened at 40 but dropped a point over the weekend – 52 percent of tickets sold at Caesars are on the Over but 52 percent of money wagered is on the Under. Weather shouldn't be a factor although it will be a bit chilly at kickoff, around 40 degrees. Chicago ranks second-to-last in the NFL in averaging 15.4 points and Pittsburgh isn't much better at 18.9 ppg. Pittsburgh is -7 on the spread but 76 percent of money wagered is on Chicago.

Harris, the No. 24 overall pick in this year's draft out of Alabama, has scored at least one TD in four consecutive games and has at least 115 scrimmage yards in each of the past three. He looks to become the fifth rookie running back to total 115 scrimmage yards and a TD in four straight games. The previous four all won AP Offensive Rookie of the Year: the Steelers' Franco Harris (six straight games in 1972), Saints' Alvin Kamara (five games in 2017), Rams' Eric Dickerson (four in 1983) and Patriots Curtis Martin (four in 1995).

Caesars give Harris an Over/Under rushing yardage total of 79.5 yards and receiving of 28.5. He's a -150 favorite to be an anytime TD scorer.

Chicago should see the return of its top running back in David Montgomery. He's still on injured reserve but practiced all week and is expected to be activated. After rushing for 309 yards and three touchdowns in the first four games this season, Montgomery has missed the last four. Rookie Khalil Herbert has been very good in Montgomery's place and probably has earned more touches regardless.

The Bears will be without two of their best defensive players in pass-rusher Khalil Mack and safety Eddie Jackson. Mack, who has six sacks, is dealing with a foot injury that sidelined him Week 8 as well. The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year is officially out. Jackson, a two-time Pro Bowler, is not expected to play (doubtful) with a hamstring injury. He has 40 tackles and a forced fumble.

Since the start of 2019, the Bears are 0-7 against the spread as underdogs of at least six points. Pittsburgh is 0-7 ATS in its past seven as a favorite.
