49ers vs. Chiefs Super Bowl 58 odds, trends: Brock Purdy rushing prop taking heaviest action at sportsbook

Brock Purdy is generating tons of props action for Super Bowl 58.

Super Bowl 58 week is here, and Monday is Media Day for San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs players and coaches in Las Vegas in their only joint public appearance before taking the field for the game Sunday. BetMGM has released some updated player props tickets totals for Sunday's game, and Niners quarterback Brock Purdy Over 12.5 rushing yards is taking the most action.

Purdy's career will come full circle in a way this week. He'll be playing in the same city where he was the 262nd and final pick (the "Mr. Irrelevant" of the class) in the 2022 NFL Draft held in Las Vegas – 652 days later, he will start in the Super Bowl.

The former Iowa State star will become only the fourth quarterback to start a Super Bowl in the same city he was drafted. Of course, only recently has the NFL started moving the draft around. It used to be held in New York City every year. Purdy will also become the third Mr. Irrelevant to play in the Super Bowl, joining linebacker Marty Moore Super Bowl 31 with the Patriots vs. the Packers and kicker Ryan Succop in Super Bowl 55 with the Buccaneers vs. the Chiefs.

The 24-year-old Purdy is not exactly known for his feet as he totaled just 144 yards rushing this season, but he has carried the ball more in the playoffs. He had six rushes for 14 yards in the Divisional Round against Green Bay and five carries for 48 yards in the NFC title game comeback against Detroit. In the regular season, he only topped 12.5 yards four times, most recently on Nov. 19.

Purdy Over 0.5 interceptions is also a very popular play at BetMGM with 99% of the action leaning that way. Purdy had 11 picks in the regular season and one this postseason playoffs, coming against the Lions. The Chiefs defense has two picks in the playoffs after just eight in the regular season.

Rounding out the top five in player props action at the book is Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco Over 66.5 rushing yards, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce Over 70.5 receiving yards, and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey Over 87.5 rushing yards.

Pacheco has rushed for 451 yards in his postseason career, the sixth-most by a player in his first two NFL seasons all-time. He has at least 75 scrimmage yards in all six career playoff games, tied for the fourth-longest streak to begin a postseason career.

Kelce is a future Hall of Famer who has 1,810 career receiving yards in the postseason, the second-most in NFL history. Kelce also has 12 straight playoff games with at least 70 receiving yards, the longest streak in postseason history. And if you are wondering, Kelce has averaged 78.8 yards receiving this season when Taylor Swift attends a game and 50.0 when she doesn't. She plans to be there Sunday.

McCaffrey led the league with 1,459 rushing yards this season and is the first rushing title winner to make the Super Bowl since Seattle's Shaun Alexander in 2005. The last rushing title winner to win the Super Bowl in the same season was Denver's Terrell Davis in 1998 when he was coached by Mike Shanahan, father of Niners coach Kyle Shanahan. McCaffrey has topped 87.5 rushing yards in seven of his past eight outings, including the playoffs. Kansas City is allowing an average of 113.0 rushing yards this postseason.
