2020 NFL Draft: LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss over-under 94.5 draft position
Here's an interesting statistic: In the history of the Minnesota Vikings franchise, no son of a former Vikings player has ever been on the team's regular-season roster. Safety John Lowdermilk, son of former Vikings center Kirk Lowdermilk, was on the practice squad in 2015.
One of the great Vikings players in history was Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss, the No. 21 overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. Moss is the only first-rounder from that draft in Canton, but he will be joined next year by Peyton Manning (No. 1 overall to Colts) and Charles Woodson (No. 4 by Raiders).
Moss' son Thaddeus had a terrific 2019 season for national champion LSU, the best in school history by a tight end. Moss' 42 catches and 534 receiving yards were both school records for a tight end. The 6-foot-3, 250-pounder transferred from NC State and missed all of 2018 with various foot injuries.
William Hill sportsbook gives Moss an Over-Under 2020 NFL Draft position of just 94.5, with both options at -110. That 94.5 spot would be near the end of the third round; Green Bay currently holds the No. 94 pick and Denver the 95th. The Packers could use a young tight end, but the Broncos took Noah Fant in the first round last year. A total of 99 percent of all money wagered on that Moss prop is on Over 94.5.
Could Moss make history and land with the Vikings? Their third-round pick is at No. 89, and they also have a compensatory pick at No. 105.
Two other former Vikings have sons in this draft: Georgia safety J.R. Reed, son of former Minnesota receiver Jake Reed; and University of Minnesota safety Antoine Winfield Jr., son of Antoine Winfield Sr., who played with the Vikings from 2004-12. Winfield Jr. should be the first of the three sons drafted as he has an Over-Under spot of 42.5 at William Hill.
NFL Pick: Over 94.5 draft spot for Moss
