The Broncos continue to be one of the most injured teams in the league and now have to compete without their starting quarterback. Brett Rypien is set to fill in for the second time this year, and in his first outing he had eyes for just three pass-catchers: Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton and Greg Dulcich, all of whom had at least nine targets against the Jets. Sutton is out this week, as is Kendall Hinton, giving Dulcich a great chance to be a target hog again after being thrown the ball eight times in each of the last two weeks. He'll be up against a Cardinals defense that has allowed the most yards to TEs in the league (73 per game), making it likely he hits this Over.
The Cardinals move forward with Colt McCoy at quarterback as both these teams play out the string in lost seasons. That scenario means we have to question the motivation on each side here, especially with two below-average coaches squaring off. The Broncos finally learned how to score touchdowns last week but still averaged just 4.6 yards per play against the Chiefs, worse than their season mark. The Broncos defense is a tough one for McCoy, but he's 3-2 as a fill-in starter the last two years with all three wins on the road, so he's better than your typical backup in this system. The line swung 5.5 points after Kyler Murray's injury, and that's just too many with a competent QB under center. You don't get many chances to catch a full field goal against the worst offense in football, so take advantage of it.
