The A's are new neighbors of Gavin Newsom as they make their Sacto debut tonight. They battled hard in Seattle to get a four-game split. Pitching was the highlight, especially starters who allowed only three runs across the four games. Joey Estes works the debut at Sutter Health Park after some fairly decent numbers a year ago at home when the A's were still campaigning in Oakland with a 3.26 ERA in eleven starts at the Coliseum. Meanwhile, Cubs starter Ben Brown was hit hard in his only work thus far of 2025 when the Dodgers roughed him up in Japan two weeks ago (three runs, two earned, and four hits in just 2 2/3 IP on March 18).
