I will say that Sundays are weird overall but the one right before the All-Star break can truly be wacky. We all know how it is pre-vacation. Lose focus, etc. It's the season debut of Colorado's German Marquez and he wasn't very good in his minor-league rehab with a 6.23 ERA over 17.1 innings. Counterpart Jose Quintana has now allowed a run in his past two (granted, both against the Nationals). Starting pitching almost matters the least today because bullpens can be used big time with all the off days coming. I would play -1 if available. but not liking -1.5.
Anyone who hasn't paid attention to the MLB standings since the start of June might be surprised if they picked up the sports page this morning and found the Mets in a wild card spot in the NL. Wins in five straight and 25 of 35 can accomplish such things, and there's still another game to go with the hapless Rockies before the All-Star break. What a time to come back, must be thinking Colorado starter German Marquez, out almost 15 months while recovering from Tommy John surgery (why the rush?). Hard to see him outpitching the Mets' hot Jose Quintana, who hasn't allowed a run in his last two starts. Play Mats on Run Line
