    Understanding Public and Money

Think of 'Public' as the percentage of people betting on each side and 'Money' as how much money is being bet. When there's a big difference between the 'Public' and 'Money' data, it usually means that the more serious bettors (referred to as 'Sharp Money') are favoring a particular side.

    Matt's Analysis:

That the Mets' home opener Thursday was pushed back to Friday was a huge break in my opinion as New York was swept in Milwaukee on Wednesday and taxed the bullpen in the finale. Now the relievers all will be good to go behind Tylor Megill, who beat these Marlins in Miami last Saturday. Should be the season debut of Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez, MLB's No. 1 overall prospect. New York won three of four in Miami to open the season. While researching this, got a Mets blast from the past: Turk Wendell will be one of three former players to throw out the first pitch. That's a name I never expected to hear again, much less type here.
