There’s no reason not to go back to the Braves here, although I have spent all afternoon trying to find one. Kyle Wright struggled in his last outing but he has been very consistent this season and the Braves always seem to win behind him with his 13 wins. Nick Pivetta has really struggled lately and he has struggled with home runs and walks. That’s not a good combination against the Braves. The Braves also have the much better bullpen especially with their deadline additions. Take the Braves on the road.
Since returning from the All-Star Break, the Braves over is 11-4-2, and is 5-0-1 in their last six games. We could see another over with this pitching matchup tonight. Kyle Wright gave up six earned runs over 4.2 IP in his start against the Red Sox earlier this season. Nick Pivetta has yet to face the Braves, but he has struggled lately, as evidenced by his 8.69 ERA in his most recent 29.0 IP. Both teams' bullpens should be incredibly tired after last night, as the Braves had to use six relievers, and the Red Sox used seven. Let's hope for another offensive showdown.
