I thought the Red Sox would have a good chance yesterday without Aaron Judge or Anthony Rizzo, and honestly, they could have been shut out had it not been for Rafael Devers going superhuman. This team is starting to struggle again after their long win streak and a lot of that has to do with their rotation injuries. Connor Seabold will be starting today and the Red Sox will most likely be going with a bullpen game tomorrow, and the Yankees are not the team to not have pitching against. They are going to try to extend Seabold as long as possible regardless of his performance. Aaron Judge could be back in the lineup but I wanna get this in now because I think the line will only rise if he is in. The Red Sox have been hitting lefties well but Nestor Cortes Jr. is still much better than Seabold as a spot start.
Not sure I'll be around when lineups are announced so we'll pick now, but all signs point to Aaron Judge back for the Yankees after a one-game maintenance day -- and New York won anyways Thursday (we won on Red Sox RL thanks to Rafael Devers). Whether Anthony Rizzo is back tonight is another question. As much as I'd like to take the Boston RL again, priced just -125, I simply can't with the Red Sox starting Connor Seabold (0-1, 8.31) the most Nantucketian (Nantucketputian?) name in Red Sox history. That we are in July and the Sox are starting Josh Winckowski and Connor Seabold in back-to-back games against the Yankees tells you how injury-ravaged Boston's rotation is right now. While the Yanks' Nestor Cortes (7-3, 2.44 ERA) has come a bit back to earth, he's still miles better than Seabold. Cortes has allowed three runs or fewer in 13 of his 15 starts this season and two or fewer in 11.
