Yankees starter Gerrit Cole is about to go on a run that will end up with him winning the AL Cy Young. Well, he's already started it. He's been excellent in his last two starts and took a no-hitter into the eighth against the Rays last time while striking out 12. The Astros lineup is much tougher, of course, but he dominated them twice last year, including a shutout in Houston. The Yankees very rarely lose two straight games and after only scoring once on Friday, they are due to put some crooked numbers on the board.
I guess I'm a "favorites" guy at least on the moneyline in baseball so yesterday was brutal. Almost nothing went according to plan. Betting against Houston at this price is dangerous and, yes, I've said not gonna bet Gerrit Cole .... not gonna bet Gerrit Cole, but he has been The Dude Abides in his past two starts and surely fired up to face his old team. I'll have a sarsaparilla.
Gerrit Cole going against his old team at home after almost pitching a no hitter? Ill take it. Christian Javier has been decent for the Astros, but he is just 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA on the road this season. Gerrit Cole has been very good lately and I think he will get after it against his former team. Both teams have good bullpens, but the Yankees have the starting pitching advantage so they should be able to get the lead for their top ranked bullpen for the first time in this series. I like the Yankees at home where they are 30-8, and they're behind their ace.
