There was some real excitement going for the Tigers heading into June, but they’ve lost seven of their last 10 games - including the last two against the White Sox. They haven't hit much of late, but they get to face Chicago RHP Vince Velasquez, who last started on May 19. And best of all, they are starting RHP Alex Faedo, who hasn’t allowed more than two runs all season. The Tigers have won his last two turns and four of his past five. Take Detroit to win.
It looks like Vince Velasquez will be coming off the IL to make this start, but he wasn’t pitching very well before the IL. Alex Faedo has been pitching very well this season, he has pitched at least five innings and allowed two runs or fewer in all seven starts. The Tigers also have what I think is their best lineup starting, Javier Baez is on the bench. I would love to see the stats on how the Tigers do when he’s not in the lineup because they were winning the first time he was injured. AJ Hinch just insists on keeping him up in the batting order and since the bottom of the Tigers lineup doesn’t produce, it creates a massive hole in your lineup. Miguel Cabrera is back in the lineup today and they shouldn’t have that hole. Liam Hendriks is on the IL and Kendall Graveman has been pitching a lot lately. I like the Tigers to salvage the series at home.
