Not going to play much on this one but at least it will keep my attention early in the day. Now that the Cards' 17-game winning streak is over, they have ZERO reason to care. They also are resting a handful of regulars again today, led by Paul Goldschmidt, Yadi Molina and Harrison Bader. Milwaukee is sitting Christian Yelich (who hasn't been great anyways this year), but it appears most everyone else is playing. So we'll try the runline as I don't trust St. Louis pitcher JA Happ whatsoever. He has a 6.52 ERA this month.
The Cards regulars should all be back in the lineup today as the try to build momentum for the Wild Card game and they are facing lefty Brett Anderson. The Cards have been one of the best teams in the league at hitting lefties the second half of the season. Anderson has been worse on the road and he allowed 6 runs in 1.2 IP in his last start which was against the Cards. He shouldn’t go too deep even if he does pitch well. JA Happ has been solid since a blowup game in Cincy not allowing a run in two of his last three starts. Take the Cards to win their 18th game in 19 tries.
