Wolves vs. Cavaliers line, picks: Advanced computer NBA model releases selections for Monday matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Monday's matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers square off in a cross-conference game at 7 p.m. ET on Monday. Minnesota is favored by three points on the road, while the Over-Under is set at 218 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NBA odds page).

Before making any Wolves vs. Cavaliers picks, you NEED to check out the NBA predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit for $100 players on its top-rated NBA picks over the past three-plus seasons. The model enters Week 19 of the 2021-22 NBA season on a stunning 71-44 roll on all top-rated NBA picks, returning over $2,100. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows the Wolves play with a great deal of force. Minnesota is in the top five of the NBA in offensive rebound rate at 29.2 percent. The Wolves are also in the top 10 in both second-chance points (15.3 per game) and free-throw attempts (22.1 per game), with a top-six mark in fast-break points at 14.3 per game. On defense, Minnesota leads the league in turnover creation, forcing 16.4 giveaways per game, and the Wolves are near the top of the NBA in steals (8.5 per game) and blocks (5.9 per game).

The model also knows the Cavaliers deploy a top-flight defense. Cleveland is giving up fewer than 1.06 points per possession, No. 4 in the NBA, and opponents are shooting only 44.1 percent from the field against the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers are No. 2 in the NBA in 2-point defense (50.3 percent), and Cleveland leads the NBA in free-throw prevention, yielding only 18.2 attempts per game. Cleveland is also in the top four in assists allowed (23.1 per game) and second-chance points allowed (12.3 per game).

Now, it has set its sights on Wolves vs. Cavaliers. We can tell you the model is leaning over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50 percent of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NBA picks.
