The 24th-ranked N.C. State Wolfpack host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday night in an Atlantic Coast Conference cross-division matchup at Carter-Finley Stadium. The Wolfpack (5-2, 1-2) have losses to Clemson and Syracuse, losing to the Orange 24-9 on Oct. 15 without Devin Leary. The quarterback was lost for the season with a torn pectoral, and the Wolfpack had a bye last week to determine the best way to proceed. The Hokies (2-5, 1-3) also had a week to reset after losing four in a row, most recently a 20-14 setback to Miami.

Kickoff in Raleigh, N.C. is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The Wolfpack are 13.5-point favorites in the latest Virginia Tech vs. N.C. State odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over/under for total points scored is 39. (See up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page.)

Before you make any N.C. State vs. Virginia Tech picks or college football predictions, you NEED to see the predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past six-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns!

The model knows the Wolfpack will have a sense of urgency, with a matchup with current No. 10 Wake Forest looming next week. Leary is a huge loss, but Charleston Southern transfer Jack Chambers had some positive moments against Syracuse, going 18-for-30 for 160 yards and rushing for 58. He should be more comfortable this week and needs to avoid mistakes and allow the Wolfpack defense to handle things. N.C. State allows just 311 yards and 17 points per game, both top-20 in FBS, and has 11 interceptions in seven games.

The model also has taken into account that the Hokies are an experienced and physical team, and they have won five straight against N.C. State. The past four have been double-digit victories, including a 45-24 home triumph in the most recent in 2020. With N.C. State missing Leary and the Hokies defense holding its opponents under 110 rushing yards in four of their six FBS games, the Wolfpack could have trouble moving the ball. Hokies quarterback Grant Wells has 1,439 passing yards, with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

The model has broken down the Virginia Tech vs. N.C. State matchup from every angle. We can tell you it is leaning Over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits more than 60% of the time! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks.
