It's a huge fight week in Las Vegas as UFC 207 gives us Ronda Rousey trying to regain her Women's Bantamweight Title gainst current champ Amanda Nunes.
Rousey, along with Conor McGregor, are MMA's two biggest stars and they always bring mainstream attention to their fights.
The Women's Bantamweight division was always Ronda Rousey, then everyone else, until last November. That's when she suffered his first loss in devastating fashion -- getting knocked out in second round by Holly Holm.
Amanda Nunes won the title in July, submitting Miesha Tate in the first round.
This fight is about whether Rousey comes back the same fighter she was before the Holm fight.
Remember, only one fighter made it out of the first round against Rousey in her first 12 fights, and she might have been overconfident going into the Holm fight. She had won three of her previous four fights with strikes, not her famous finish with the straight armbar.
Fighters can put a decision loss, even a lopsided one, behind them, but it's always hard to forget being knocked out, especially one like Holm put on Rousey last year.
Rousey needs to get back to her dirty boxing and Judo game to be at her best. For some reason, whether it was her decision or her coaches', she decided to stay on the outside and strike in the Holm fight -- some of the worst strategy I've ever seen.
By the time she started going for takedowns, her confidence was shot and Holm's was growing.
Nunes will try to keep this fight at range and test Ronda with kicks and punches. If she's able to do that and get this fight into the later rounds, it could be big trouble for Rousey.
Still, this is by far the shortest price Rousey has ever laid (-145) so I would get it early as it will probably rise close to fight time.
I have to give Rousey a pass on her last fight as any fighter can have one bad night.
In Rousey's 12 wins, fighters of Nunes ability have usually been easy pickings. Take Rousey to regain her crown, and probably finish Nunes in the first round.
BONUS PICK
Also on the card, Dominick Cruz (-210) defends his UFC Bantamweight Championship against undefeated Cody Garbrandt (+165).
Cruz is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in all of MMA and sometimes gets a little undervalued. Garbrandt won his last three fights with first-round KOs, but the competition was nowhere near what he'll see from Cruz.
Take Dominick Cruz at -210 to retain his title.
