UEFA Champions League 2024-25 returns Tuesday, Feb. 11 with the first legs of the playoff knockout phase, a big change from previous competitions. The top eight teams from the group stage have automatically qualified to the Round of 16, while teams seeded 9-24 were drawn into two-leg matchups to determine the final eight participants. Teams 25-36 were eliminated, with no possibility of going into Europa League.
Both of last year's finalists will be in action Tuesday. Reigning champions Real Madrid meet Manchester City in the knockout round for a fourth consecutive competition, with the Spanish giants holding a 2-1 edge over the previous three matchups. Borussia Dortmund, who took care of Shakhtar Donetsk 3-1 on Matchday 8, will head to Portugal for a clash with Sporting CP. Dortmund currently sit 11th in the Bundesliga table but could make a run similar to last year's where they won seven of their last 11 league games in addition to advancing to the Champions League final. All of Tuesday's matches will be on Paramount+, which is free for the first week when you sign up here.
