Trade odds revealed for Chargers RB Melvin Gordon
Melvin Gordon still isn't with the Los Angeles Chargers, at odds over a contract that pays him $5.6 million annually. But while things are reportedly getting closer between fellow running back holdout Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys, the gap between Gordon and the Chargers seems to be widening.
As Week 1 of the 2019 NFL season looms, the Chargers have now granted their two-time Pro Bowl RB permission to seek a trade partner for the team.Â

Gordon, who made $5.6 million last season, requested a new contract or a trade in July but was denied by the team.
He reportedly turned down an offer from the Chargers, and the belief is this holdout isn't going to end before the Chargers host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday to open the season.
SportsLine's oddsmakers have created odds for which team Gordon eventually suits up for in 2019.
Which team will Melvin Gordon play for in 2019?
Los Angeles Chargers 5/2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5/1
Indianapolis Colts 6/1
Houston Texans 7/1
Green Bay Packers 8/1
Buffalo Bills 10/1Â
New England Patriots 10/1
Philadelphia Eagles 10/1
Several of the above teams may be in the market for help at running back -- in several cases, a clear-cut No. 1 RB is not on the roster. Gordon would provide an immediate boost of production for the majority.Â
Despite the perceived gap between the team and the player, there's a reason the Chargers remain the best bet for Gordon -- and it goes in line with why L.A. granted him a chance to find a trade partner.
Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk believes the Chargers granted a trade because Gordon is unlikely to find a team that wants to pay him what he thinks he's worth, or give L.A. much in return.
"No one is going to pay Melvin Gordon what he wants and give the Chargers real value in trade," Florio noted on Twitter. "Giving him permission to seek a trade is all about letting him realize it's not happening."
Gordon, 26, rushed for 885 yards and 10 TDs in 12 games. In four seasons with the Chargers, Gordon has played 16 games just once and averaged more than 4.0 yards per carry just once. That said, he also has 28 TDs in the last three seasons. Without Gordon, the Chargers will handing the ball to Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson.Â
