The Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder have been well acquainted with one another over the past couple weeks. The two squared off on the final day before the All-Star Break on Feb. 13, with Minnesota notching a 116-101 home victory. Yesterday, the Thunder got revenge in Minneapolis by pulling off a 130-123 win. They face off once again tonight for the third time in four games for each team, this time in Oklahoma City at 8 p.m. ET.
While the Thunder are up 9.5 games for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, the Timberwolves will need a strong second half to improve their playoff positioning. Minnesota currently sits in seventh in the Western Conference, just one game behind the Clippers for sixth and a bye past the play-in round. The Timberwolves are also only 3.5 games ahead of the 11th-place Phoenix Suns and from missing out on postseason contention.
The Timberwolves will be leaning on superstar Anthony Edwards to carry them, and Edwards is delivering career highs in points per game (27.7) and rebounds per game (5.9) this campaign. Edwards, however, has fallen short of his points + assists + rebounds prop against stronger defenses, as he's gone Under this prop in 15 of his last 25 games against teams with a top-third defense. That recent trend could be something to keep in mind before building out your NBA same-game parlays for tonight.
