Stevenson vs. Herring odds, picks: Boxing insider releases predictions for Oct. 23 junior lightweight showdown

CBS mixed martial arts and boxing analyst Brandon Wise has just released his picks for Saturday's title fight in Atlanta

WBO junior lightweight champion Jamel Herring puts his title on the line Saturday against undefeated former world featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson in the main event of a professional boxing card Saturday in Atlanta. The headliners head to the ring around 10:30 p.m. ET at State Farm Arena.

Many boxing observers believe this could be one of the most compelling fights of 2021 outside of the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder trilogy match that took place two weeks ago in Las Vegas.

Stevenson (16-0) is a 2016 Olympic silver medalist who has been roundly hailed as a potential star ever since he began his rise up the amateur circuit. However, his stock might have dropped a little on the heels of a handful of lackluster performances.

He will likely have to be at his best to defeat the surging Herring (23-2), who is looking to build off perhaps the most impressive win of his career. He stopped former two-division champ Carl Frampton in April for the third successful defense of his title.

Stevenson is a -1100 favorite (risk $1,100 to win $100), while Herring comes back at +700 (risk $100 to win $700) in the latest Caesars Sportsbook boxing odds for Stevenson vs. Herring. Before settling any picks of your own for Stevenson vs. Herring, make sure you check out the boxing predictions and betting advice from SportsLine combat expert Brandon Wise.

Wise, who is the combat sports editor for CBS Sports, is an experienced boxing analyst. His strong 2021 boxing record includes correctly calling victories for social-media-star-turned-boxing-phenom Jake Paul over former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. Moreover, the respected combat analyst also called Jamel Herring (+105) to defeat Carl Frampton (-125) for the WBO junior lightweight title in April. Anyone who has followed Wise's combat sports picks is WAY UP!

What's more, Wise also has been on point with his UFC predictions this year. He called middleweight champion Israel Adesanya by decision against Marvin Vettori at +140 and Brandon Moreno (+190) to win outright against Deiveson Figueiredo for the flyweight title at UFC 263 earlier this summer.

Now, with Saturday's showdown fast approaching, Wise has studied Stevenson vs. Herring from every angle, identified the best value in the boxing odds and released his confident picks. Wise has made the call on which fighter wins and has locked in several other best bets that bring HUGE returns, including a prop that pays more than 10-1! You ABSOLUTELY need to see Wise's picks before making any of your own!
