Red Sox vs. Yankees lines, picks: Odds and predictions for Saturday's MLB matchup from advanced computer model

SportsLine's Projection Model has generated picks for Saturday's AL East matchup between Boston and New York at Yankee Stadium

The Boston Red Sox will be looking to return the favor against their AL East arch-rivals Saturday when they continue their series in the Bronx against the New York Yankees. Friday's opener at Yankee Stadium was a back-and-forth affair that New York won 6-5 on Josh Donaldson's single in the bottom of the 11th.

First pitch in New York is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET. New York is listed as a -160 favorite (risk $160 to win $100) on the money line in the latest Red Sox vs. Yankees odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total runs scored is nine (see the latest lines for every game on our MLB odds page).

Before you consider any Yankees vs. Red Sox picks, you NEED to see the latest MLB predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

This model, which simulates every game 10,000 times, enters the 2022 MLB season coming off a 209-178 record on top-rated MLB money-line picks in 2021, returning over $700 for $100 players. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns!

The model knows the Yankees have the offense to hang with anyone when the hitters are healthy, and that appears to be the case. Aaron Judge (39 home runs in 2021), Giancarlo Stanton (35) and Joey Gallo (38 with two teams) all started Friday. Stanton and Anthony Rizzo both homered, and Donaldson makes the lineup even more fearsome. Right-hander Luis Severino, who is expected to start for the Yankees on Saturday, has his own power, and he was expected to be a long-term ace before an elbow injury. He is back and throwing in the mid-90's, and he allowed one run and struck out nine in five relief appearances in 2021.

The model also has accounted for Boston's lineup featuring Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts and Trevor Story. Bogaerts tweaked a hamstring Friday, but Devers had a two-run home run in the first inning, and Story averages 101 runs and 98 RBI over 162 games in his six-year career. He was 0-for-5 in the opener and could break out Saturday. Boston scheduled starter Nick Pivetta went 9-8 last season, striking out 175 batters in 155 innings. The righty posted a 3.75 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 15 road starts last season while recording marks of 5.40 and 1.46 at Fenway. He allowed just seven of his 24 home runs in away games.

Now, the model has been digging deep into the Yankees vs. Red Sox matchup, and we can tell you the model is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the money line has all the value! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any MLB picks of your own.
