The Philadelphia Phillies will battle the Chicago Cubs in the third and final game of their three-game series on Sunday Night Baseball. The Phillies (14-13), who snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday, are 5-9 on the road this season. The Cubs (17-11), who have won three of four, are 9-6 on their home field.

First pitch from Wrigley Field in Chicago is set for 7:10 p.m. ET. Chicago is a –118 favorite on the money line (risk $118 to win $100) in the latest Phillies vs. Cubs odds from Fanduel Sportsbook, while the total number of runs Vegas thinks will be scored, or the over/under, is 8.

Before making any Phillies vs. Cubs picks, see the MLB predictions and betting advice from SportsLine's proven computer model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every MLB game 10,000 times. It enters Week 5 of the 2025 MLB season on a 13-6 run on top-rated MLB picks (+415). Anybody following could have seen strong returns!

The model knows Philadelphia will send right-hander Aaron Nola (0-5, 6.43 ERA) to the mound. The 11-year veteran has been the ace of the staff for much of his career. In 33 starts in 2024, he was 14-8 with a 3.57 ERA. In 273 career starts, he is 104-84 with a 3.75 ERA with 432 walks and 1,810 strikeouts, a 4.2 to 1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. In his last start, a 5-4 loss to the New York Mets on Monday, he pitched 6.1 innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs and two walks, while striking out six.

The model also knows Chicago is expected to counter with right-hander Jameson Taillon (1-1, 4.73 ERA). He is coming off a solid outing with a no-decision in a 3-2 loss to Arizona on April 20. In that game, he pitched five innings, allowing three hits, one earned run and two walks, while striking out six. He also had a no-decision in a 10-4 loss at San Diego on April 14, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing four hits, two runs – both earned – with one walk and five strikeouts.

The model has simulated Phillies vs. Cubs 10,000 times and the results are in. We can tell you the model is leaning Over on the run total, and it also says one side has ALL the value!
