It's party time again on the PGA Tour as a stacked field heads to raucous TPC Scottsdale for the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open, which starts Thursday. Before you make any picks, you NEED to see who Sal Johnson is backing.

The golf media legend is coming off a strong year. He featured Tiger Woods in his best bets for the Masters and backed Brooks Koepka in his picks for the PGA Championship, and both players pulled off major victories. He completely nailed the season-ending Tour Championship. He predicted that Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy or Xander Schauffele could come out on top, and McIlroy won the event for the second time, with Schauffele coming in second and Koepka tied for third. Anyone who followed Johnson's advice saw HUGE returns.

He also nailed the 2017 Phoenix Open. Johnson picked Hideki Matsuyama as one of his best bets to come out on top, noting that "he seems to own this course." The golfer from Japan beat Webb Simpson on the fourth playoff hole for his second straight win at Scottsdale. Before last year's event, Johnson also noted in his best of the rest that Rickie Fowler also knows his way around the course, and he won the title at 18-1 odds.

Now, Johnson -- the first producer of "Inside the PGA Tour," a longtime ABC Sports golf producer and the founder of the world's biggest golf stats database -- has issued his highly confident picks for the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale.

We can tell you Johnson wants no part of Tony Finau, even though he finished sixth last week. The 30-year-old has an Official World Golf Ranking of No. 13 and his game appears to be a perfect fit for Scottsdale. However, he has struggled mightily there, missing four straight cuts. He's someone to fade this week.

Instead, Johnson is all over a MONSTER long shot who closed strong at Torrey Pines last week. This underrated player is locked in on putts inside 10 feet and has played consistently well this season. Anyone who backs this underdog could hit it BIG.

Who wins the Phoenix Open? Where do Simpson and Woodland finish? And which MONSTER long shot stuns the golf world? ...
