No. 22 Tulane vs. SMU odds, line, picks: Predictions for Saturday's AAC Championship from advanced computer model
The No. 22 Tulane Green Wave seek their second straight conference title when they host the SMU Mustangs in the 2023 AAC Championship Game on Saturday. Tulane (11-1, 8-0), which is riding a 10-game winning streak, captured the 10th conference crown in school history last year as it defeated UCF 45-28 at home. SMU (10-2, 8-0) has won eight straight contests and hopes to end its stint in the AAC with its 12th conference title and first since winning the Southwest in 1984. The Mustangs will play in the ACC next season.
Kickoff at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans is set for 4 p.m. ET. The Green Wave are 3-point favorites in the latest Tulane vs. SMU odds, while the over/under for total points scored is 47. Tulane is the -152 favorite (risk $152 to win $100) on the money line (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our college football odds page).
Before you make any SMU vs. Tulane picks or college football predictions, you NEED to see the predictions from SportsLine's proven computer model.
The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a strong profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It finished the 2023 regular season a profitable 13-9 on top-rated spread picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns!
The model knows Tulane is in the midst of its longest winning streak since bridging the 1997 and 1998 seasons with 13 straight victories. The team has won 14 consecutive games, including 10 this year, with Michael Pratt under center. The junior quarterback has thrown for 2,168 yards with 21 touchdowns and just four interceptions in 2023 and has made a TD toss in 44 of his 45 career contests.
The model also is aware that SMU is fourth in the nation in scoring with an average of 41.8 points and has recorded at least 31 in every game during its current winning streak. The Mustangs have five players with more than 400 receiving yards and four that have at least four touchdown catches. They'll have to get the job done with redshirt freshman Kevin Jennings, however, as top quarterback Preston Stone suffered a broken leg in last week's 59-14 rout of Navy after throwing for 322 yards and three TDs.
Now, the model has set its sights on Saturday's Tulane vs. SMU AAC Championship matchup. We can tell you it is leaning Over on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits more than 50% of the time. You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any college football picks!
