NFL: Bengals WR A.J. Green carted off with ankle injury
The seven-time Pro Bowler will likely miss a good chunk of the preseason as he nurses what is believed -- and hoped -- to be a sprained ankle.

The Cincinnati Bengals opened training camp on Saturday with a scare when star wideout A.J. Green suffered a leg injury. He walked under his own power to a cart and was whisked away. The Bengals' seven-time Pro Bowler missed seven games in the 2018 NFL season with a toe injury.
But Saturday's diagnosis was not related to that -- Green likely suffered a sprained ankle.
Green suffered the injury in 7-on-7 drills and was helped to the sideline. He expressed immediate frustration before getting carted off sans a shoe on his left foot.
An MRI was scheduled for Green with the hope that the sprain is confirmed. Regardless, expect a very conservative timetable for his return. It's unlikely we'll see much of Green in the preseason, if at all.
Ironically, Green declared in an interview with NFL Network earlier in the day that the Bengals can have a terrific year -- as long as the injury bug doesn't bite.
"There's really no limit for us," he said. "For us it's just everybody staying healthy."
Behind Green on the left side of the WR depth chart is Cody Core, a sixth-round draft pick in 2016 who had 13 receptions last season and special teams regular.
Expectations are high for a healthy Green under first-year head coach Zac Taylor. SportsLine fantasy football insider Heath Cummings ranks Green as the No. 10 WR on his player-projection list for the 2019 NFL season.
