Mike Glennon Favored to Start for Chicago Bears Week 1
With the second pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears shocked the world by selecting North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky.
This is the same franchise that gave ex-Bucs backup QB Mike Glennon $18 million guaranteed a few weeks earlier.

Trubisky started all 13 games for the Tar Heels as a junior, setting single-season records for passing yards (3,748), touchdowns (30), and total offense (4,056).
He's still a raw talent.

Then there's Glennon, who's equally unproven. He's appeared in 21 career NFL games and thrown 30 touchdowns against 15 picks. He started 13 games in 2013 for the Bucs and had 19 scores.
It looks like those are the primary options for Bears fans this season.
BookMaker.eu is on the side of the "veteran," the QB the Bears overpaid. Glennon is a strong -500 favorite to start Week 1 for the Bears, meaning you'd have to wager $500 just to win $100.
Trubisky is a +360 underdog to start Week 1. You'd win $360 on a $100 bet.
The SportsLine Projetion Model has the Bears winning 4.9 games and gives them a 1.9 percent chance of making the playoffs.
ESPN's Dan Graziano agrees with BookMaker.eu. He sasy Glennon will start Week 1, but yield to the rookie at some point this season.
"The pressure to play him will be intense, and Glennon doesn't have enough around him to succeed in enough of a way to hold off the rookie," Graziano said.
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora agrees, saying, "Unless Glennon somehow performs like Johnny Unitas despite playing with a weak supporting cast, he won't be there for long."
