Mavericks vs. Warriors line, picks: Established NBA expert releases selections for Western Conference Finals Game 1 matchup

Matt Severance delivers selections for Wednesday's Game 1 matchup between the Dallas Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks visit the Golden State Warriors for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Golden State is favored by 5.5-points at Caesars Sportsbook, while the Over-Under is set at 214.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NBA odds page). Before making any Mavericks vs. Warriors picks, you NEED to check out the NBA predictions from SportsLine expert Matt Severance.

A well-connected writer and handicapper who has worked in the industry since 2005, Severance is on a stunning run: He is a blistering 85-33 his last 118 NBA money line picks, returning $3,113 to $100 bettors during that span. Anyone who has followed him is WAY UP.

The expert knows the Mavericks are coming off an electric defensive performance against Phoenix. Dallas held the Suns to less than a point per possession in a Game 7 road win, and the Mavericks are allowing only 110.5 points per 100 possessions against elite competition in the playoffs. Dallas leads the NBA Playoffs in fast break points allowed (7.4 per game), and the Mavericks are giving up only 9.6 three-pointers per game. Golden State is turning the ball over on nearly 16 percent of offensive possessions in the postseason, opening the door for increased efficiency for the Mavericks.

He is also aware that the Warriors bring a high-powered offense. Golden State is scoring well over 1.14 points per possession. The Warriors also lead the NBA Playoffs in both assist rate (66.4 percent) and assists per game (27.8), with top-shelf shooting. Golden State is shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 37.6 percent from three-point range, and the Warriors are securing 28.6 percent of available offensive rebounds in the postseason.

Now, Severance has set his sights on Mavericks vs. Warriors. We can tell you he is leaning under the total, and has a strong play on the side! You ABSOLUTELY need to see what he has to say before locking in any NBA picks.
