Lakers vs. Hornets line, picks: Advanced computer NBA model releases selections for Friday's matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Friday's matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets

The Los Angeles Lakers (24-25) go on the road to play the Charlotte Hornets (27-22) in a Friday night showdown at 7:30 p.m. ET. Charlotte is favored by eight points in the latest Lakers vs. Hornets odds from Caesers Sportsbook, while the Over-Under is set at 227.5 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NBA odds page). LeBron James (knee) remains day-to-day for Los Angeles.

Before making any Lakers vs. Hornets picks, you NEED to check out the NBA predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit on its top-rated NBA picks over the past three-plus seasons. The model enters Week 15 of the 2021-22 NBA season on a stunning 58-32 roll on all top-rated NBA picks, returning over $2,100. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Charlotte forward Miles Bridges is averaging a team-best 20.1 points with 7.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Bridges is a high-flyer that can punish the rim with his unique athleticism. The Michigan State product has scored at least 20 points in eight of his last 10 games. In the Jan. 17 win over the New York Knicks, Bridges dropped a career-high 38 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. He also knocked down five 3-pointers.

The model also knows Los Angeles forward Anthony Davis returned to the floor on Jan. 25 against the Brooklyn Nets. Davis provided the Lakers with a much-needed boost on both ends of the floor. The eight-time All-Star is averaging 23 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game. Davis had a solid performance in his last outing against the Philadelphia 76ers. He finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks in a bout against star center Joel Embiid.

Now, it has set its sights on Lakers vs. Hornets. We can tell you the model is leaning Under the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50 percent of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NBA picks.
