Jaguars QB Nick Foles, Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill among key Week 1 injuries
Injuries are always a part of football, and Week 1 of the NFL season was no exception.
A number of key offensive standouts went down to injury on the opening Sunday of the 2019 season, and they may not be back on the field anytime soon.
**Jaguars QB Nick Foles, in his first game for Jacksonville, suffered a fractured collarbone in the team's season-opening loss to the Chiefs. He's expected to miss at least half the season.
The former Super Bowl MVP with the Eagles was injured on a 35-yard TD pass to D.J. Chark.
The Jaguars' offense is now in the hands of Gardner Minshew, the rookie sixth-round pick out of Washington State. Minshew was a solid 22-of-25 passing for 275 yards, with one TD and one INT.
**Chiefs star WR Tyreek Hill suffered a shoulder injury against the Jaguars and was carted into the locker room. He did not return and was later transported to a local hospital. According to reports, he suffered a joint injury.
"He had a sternal clavicular joint injury, which is where your clavicle comes out of your sternum," Chiefs head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder said in a statement. "He's being treated to reduce the dislocation or the injury. We don't have any more update on that. ... We'll give an update in the next day or two."
While nothing has been made official, Hill is expected to miss at least a couple weeks.
**San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman injured his ankle and did not return. He was spotted in a walking boot after the game and is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.
The Niners have just two other RBs on the roster in Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert. The two combined for 77 yards on 24 carries in Coleman's absence.
In other key injures Sunday:
Jets LB C.J. Mosley was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Bills in the fourth quarter with a groin injury. He returned an interception for a touchdown and recovered a fumble in a nice debut for his new team before the injury.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon suffered a right ankle injury. His status was up in the air.
Vikings CB Mackensie Alexander suffered a dislocated elbow and did not return in Minnesota's win over Atlanta. The hope is he won't miss significant time.Â

Browns QB Baker Mayfield suffered a bruised wrist on his throwing hand and had it wrapped after Sunday's loss to the Titans. And Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes sprained his ankle against the Jaguars. Both are expected to be OK.
