The 2025 Players Championship got underway on Thursday, March 13 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. 'Golf's fifth major' officially kicks off the stretch run of the 2025 PGA Tour schedule. The Players Championship 2025 field features 144 golfers, a list which includes 48 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking. Eight past Players Championship winners are in the field, including Scottie Scheffler (2023, 2024), Justin Thomas (2021), Rory McIlroy (2019), Si Woo Kim (2017), Jason Day (2016), Rickie Fowler (2015), Matt Kuchar (2012), and Adam Scott (2004). Scheffler has the chance to become a rare three-peat champion at this year's event, after becoming the first player to ever win back-to-back Players Championship titles in 2024.
