Three more U.S. states legalized sports betting in 2024, as Delaware, Vermont and North Carolina have raised the count to 38 (plus the District of Columbia). Were bettors in those states eager to put money down on sports wagers? Just how much business was done in those states? Let's check out the best sportsbooks that have entered these new states, how much revenue each state generated, as well as any other sports betting updates for North Carolina, Delaware and Vermont.

North Carolina

The biggest sports betting state launch in 2024 was North Carolina, as eight of the best sports betting apps were licensed to operate there as of March 11—FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, bet365, ESPN Bet, and Underdog Sports. North Carolina is the only state in which Underdog Sports has a sportsbook, though it had previously entered several other states as Underdog Fantasy with its fantasy pick'em contests.
