Here's Whether Ezekiel Elliott Actually Gets Suspended

A domestic violence accusation made against Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott last year could cost him playing time this season.

A domestic violence accusation made against Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott last year could cost him playing time this season.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the tailback is "bracing for a short suspension," which reports peg at one or two games.

Despite media reports that Elliott will be suspended by the NFL, oddsmakers at market-setting BookMaker.eu originally believed it was more likely he would not miss any time.

They made Elliott a -170 favorite to not be suspended, meaning you had to risk $170 to win $100 on "No."

BookMaker.eu opened Elliott as a +130 underdog to sit out one or more games because of suspension, meaning you would have won $130 from a $100 bet on "Yes."

    Bettors jumped on the "Yes."

They bet hard that Elliott would be suspended, pushing the odds for "Yes" all the way from +130 to -175.

In 15 games last season, Elliott was a workhorse. He had 322 rushing attempts, an average of 21 per game, for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The rookie also reeled in 32 catches for 363 yards and another score.

Any absence could spell doom for the Cowboys, at least in the short-term.

It's been a troubling off-season for the Ohio State product. In addition to the NFL's domestic violence investigation, Elliott was involved in a May car crash and missed OTAs.
