Fantasy Football: Who should I draft? Pros and cons for eight polarizing players
Every Fantasy season has its polarizing players. These are the picks that make-or-break your season because they come with considerable upside, but also a high degree of risk.
Before you make the call on polarizing players such as Josh Gordon, Deshaun Watson or Jimmy Graham, you'll want to see what Fantasy analyst Pat Fitzmaurice has to say.
A former Pro Football Weekly editor and writer for over a decade, Fitzmaurice has also written for SI.com, 4for4.com and other publications. Fitzmaurice finished second in FantasyPros' 2017 rankings accuracy contest and received a 2017 Fantasy Sports Writers Association nomination for best football series.
Now he's done an in-depth analysis of eight of the most polarizing Fantasy players in 2018 and revealed his thoughts on how risky each one is relative to his average draft position (ADP).
One thing we'll give away: Fitzmaurice thinks Graham is too risky at an ADP of 51 overall. "At a fifth-round price, Graham would probably have to hit double digits in touchdowns to return a profit, since his yardage potential simply isn't what it used to be," he said. "He could certainly score 10 touchdowns, but that's not a bet you should be eager to make."
Fitzmaurice is also recommending a polarizing quarterback that some have removed from draft boards, and is taking a strong stance on how you should value Gordon.
