The Daytona 500 is arguably the most anticipated racing event of the NASCAR season each and every year, and the 2025 installment takes place on Sunday, Feb. 16. If you're looking to place a bet on one the biggest races of the NASCAR season, you're in luck. DraftKings has a promotion where new users can get $150 in bonus bets after signing up and placing an initial wager of just $5.
Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin, a three-time Daytona 500 winner, are the co-favorites at DraftKings at +1000 odds (bet $100 to win $1,000), while Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliot are next up at +1100 each. Reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano has the next-best odds of all the racers at +1200, and 2024 Daytona 500 champ William Byron has the eighth-best odds at +1500.
Will Byron win his second Daytona 500 in a row? Can Hamlin become just the third driver to win the historic race four times? If you're feeling confident about one of those two or another racer, you can get in on the action at DraftKings and receive bonus bets you can use to wager on the Daytona 500.
Here's a closer look at DraftKings' latest promotion, how it stacks up with new-user offers from other sportsbooks and a preview of the Daytona 500.

DraftKings' latest new user promotion is a fairly standard one with a $5 first bet netting you $150 in bonus bets. These come in the form of six $25 bonus bet tokens, which expire seven days after they enter your account.
FanDuel is offering a similar promotion with a $5 first bet returning $150 in bonus bets, but unlike DraftKings, FanDuel requires that first bet to win in order to receive those bonus bets. Both DraftKings and FanDuel provide more of a return than bet365, which is offering new users $100 in bonus bets, but bet365 doesn't require your first bet to win like FanDuel does.
Caesars offers the most potential return for new users given that an initial $1 bet nets the bettor 10 100% profit boosts with max additional winnings for each rewarded profit boost of $2,500. BetMGM's promotion allows new bettors to receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets, but that's only if that first bet loses, so it's a first bet insurance promotion rather than receiving instant bonus bets like DraftKings and bet365 are offering. Fanatics is also offering bet insurance with their promotion, as bettors can receive up to $1,000 in bonus bets if their first bets on each of their first 10 days on the platform lose. This requires more of a commitment than DraftKings, bet365 and FanDuel are offering, and it's less of a maximum potential return than Caesars offers.
Interested in locking down DraftKings Sportsbook's latest promotion? New users can follow these steps to get $200 in bonus bets.
Once you place your wager, you will receive $150 in bonus bets in the form of six $25 bonus bets even if your first bet loses, and they can be used to bet on any sport. It is important to note that the $25 bonus bets are not included in the payout for any wagers placed. Additionally, you can't redeem the bonus bets for cash. Bonus bets also expire after seven days.
New users must be at least 21 years old to sign up for DraftKings Sportsbook, except in Kentucky and Wyoming, where you must be 18 or older.
Busch and Hamlin are the co-favorites in the 2025 Daytona 500 odds at DraftKings, with Hamlin entering the race a three-time winner (2016, 2019, 2020). Hamlin is one of six drivers with three or more Daytona 500 wins, and with another victory on Sunday, he'd join Richard Petty (seven) and Cale Yarborough (four) as the only drivers in NASCAR history with four or more wins in the "Great American Race." Busch has had a stellar NASCAR Cup Series career with 63 wins and 382 top-10 finishes, but he has not won the Daytona 500. He'll look to change that on Sunday and join his brother, Kurt Busch, as winners of this historic race.
Byron won the 2024 Daytona 500, and the 13-time Cup Series race winner can join Hamlin, Petty, Yarborough and Sterling Marlin as the only back-to-back Daytona 500 winners in history.
The SportsLine Projection Model has made its picks for the race, and while it thinks Byron will have another strong showing, it doesn't think he'll find the winner's circle for the second straight year. SportsLine experts Steven Taranto and Phil Bobbitt and Steve Greco have shared their picks and best bets, and Mike McClure has shared his insight for Fantasy and DFS purposes.
