Delaware State vs. Hawaii line, odds: Football expert releases spread pick for Saturday's game

SportsLine expert Emory Hunt, who went 93-78-5 (+777) on his college football picks in 2023, has made his pick for the matchup on Saturday between the Hornets and Rainbow Warriors

The Delaware State Hornets and Hawaii Rainbow Warriors open the 2024 NCAA college football season on Saturday. The Hornets, who finished 1-10 a year ago, are looking for their first winning record since 2012, when they finished 6-5 overall and 5-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The Rainbow Warriors, who finished 5-8 overall and 3-5 in the Mountain West Conference, are looking for their first winning mark since going 5-4 in a COVID-19 shortened 2020 season. That was also the last time the Rainbow Warriors took part in a bowl game.

Kickoff from Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex in Honolulu, Hawaii, is set for 11:59 p.m. ET. This will be the first-ever meeting between the programs. The Rainbow Warriors are 39.5-point favorites in the latest Delaware State vs. Hawaii odds from SportsLine consensus, while the over-under for total points scored is down to 52.5 after being as high as 57.5. Before making any Hawaii vs. Delaware picks, or college football predictions, you NEED to hear what football expert Emory Hunt Jr. has to say.

Hunt is the founder and CEO of Football Gameplan, which has been supplying analysis of all levels of football since 2007, and a former running back for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. He knows the game from a player's perspective.

In addition, Hunt was 93-78-5 (+777) on his college football picks last year. Anyone who has followed him is way up.

Now, Hunt has analyzed Delaware State vs. Hawaii from every angle and just locked in his picks and predictions.

Hunt knows that the Rainbow Warriors are led by senior quarterback Brayden Schager. Last season, he led the team in passing, completing 332 of 525 passes (63.2%) for 3, 542 yards and 26 touchdowns. He was intercepted 14 times, but had a rating of 130.9. He threw for 300 or more yards six times, including a 427-yard and three-touchdown effort in a 41-34 loss to San Diego State on Oct. 14. In a 27-24 win over Colorado State on Nov. 25, he was 30 of 43 (69.8%) for 320 yards and one touchdown.

The expert also has taken into account that redshirt sophomore quarterback Marqui Adams returns for the Hornets after leading the offense a year ago. In nine games, he completed 110 of 185 passes (59.5%) for 1,452 yards and nine touchdowns. He was intercepted nine times and had a quarterback rating of 131.7. Adams was also the team's second-leading rusher, carrying 81 times for 278 yards (3.4 average) and one touchdown.

Now, Hunt has locked in a confident against-the-spread pick for Delaware State vs. Hawaii. We can tell you he's leaning Over on the total, but he knows a crucial X-factor makes one side of the spread a MUST-BACK. You ABSOLUTELY need to see what it is before locking in any picks of your own.
