College football odds, lines, spreads: Picks, predictions, betting advice for Week 1, 2024 from proven model

The SportsLine Projection Model, which has generated well over $2,000 for $100 college football bettors since its inception, has revealed its college football picks for Week 1

The 2024 college football season began for a few FBS teams in Week 0, but every team in the top 25 will be in action during the Week 1 college football schedule. There are three ranked vs. ranked matchups on the schedule this week, including No. 1 Georgia vs. No. 14 Clemson on Saturday at noon ET. The Bulldogs are 12.5-point favorites in the Week 1 college football odds for that game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, with an over/under of 48.5 points.

No. 20 Texas A&M is a 3-point home favorite against No. 7 Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night, while No. 13 LSU is -4 against No. 23 USC on Sunday night. The Week 1 schedule concludes when No. 10 Florida State tries to bounce back from its Week 0 loss to Georgia Tech when it hosts Boston College as a 16.5-point favorite on Monday, with that game's O/U at 50.

Before making any college football picks for those games or others in Week 1, be sure to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It is also coming off a profitable 13-9 season on top-rated spread picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen STRONG returns!

Now, it has studied the latest college football odds (see the latest college football lines for each matchup this week on our college football odds page), simulated every single play for every Week 1 game, and the results are in.

One of the college picks the model is high on during Week 1: No. 8 Penn State (-7.5) cruises to a blowout win over West Virginia at noon ET on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are coming off their second straight double-digit win season under head coach James Franklin, finishing third in the Big Ten behind Ohio State and Michigan last year. They return starting quarterback Drew Allar, who led an offense that ranked 12th in the country in points per game (36.2). He is expected to have a big game on Saturday, which is why Penn State is covering in well over 70% of simulations.

Another prediction: Western Kentucky (+32) stays within the spread at No. 5 Alabama in a 7 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday. The Crimson Tide return starting quarterback Jalen Milroe, but they are working in new pieces at every other skill position offensively. Meanwhile, Western Kentucky has a dynamic offense that should create some problems for Alabama's rebuilding secondary, so the model has the Hilltoppers covering the spread well over 50% of the time.

The model has also made the call on who wins and covers in every other FBS matchup, and it's calling for an upset in one of the week's biggest games!
