Chiefs vs. Jets line, picks: Advanced computer NFL model releases selections for Sunday Night Football matchup

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Sunday's matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Jets

The Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets will meet in a Week 4 AFC clash in primetime at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday Night Football. Pop star Taylor Swift will reportedly be in attendance rooting on Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes has practiced in full this week after suffering an ankle injury last Sunday.

For this game, the SportsLine consensus lists the Chiefs as 8-point favorites, while the over/under is 41.5. Before making any Chiefs vs. Jets picks, you NEED to check out the NFL predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up well over $7,000 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception. The model enters Week 4 of the 2023 NFL season on an incredible 167-117 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season. It is also on a 21-9 roll on top-rated NFL picks since Week 7 of last season. The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past six years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94% of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is WAY UP.

The model knows the Chiefs are led by two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes. He keys an offense that led the NFL in points and total yards in 2022, and Kansas City is putting up 26.0 points per game and 2.44 points per possession in 2023. Kansas City averages 5.8 yards per play and, with Mahomes at the forefront, the Chiefs are in the top five in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season.

The model also knows the Jets are stout on defense. New York deployed a top-five unit in 2022, and the Jets are allowing only 20.3 points per game and 1.61 points per drive so far this season. Opponents are generating only 4.8 yards per play against New York, including 3.7 yards per carry, and the Jets have held the opposition to a 37.5% red zone efficiency mark in three games.

Now, it has set its sights on Chiefs vs. Jets. We can tell you the model is leaning Over the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits in well over 50% of simulations! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NFL picks.
