Celtics vs. Hornets line, picks: Advanced computer NBA model reveals selections for Wednesday's contest

SportsLine's projection model generated selections for Wednesday's game between Boston and Charlotte

The Boston Celtics seek their fourth consecutive victory and 17th in 20 games when they visit the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Boston (39-27) is coming off a perfect three-game homestand that concluded with Sunday's 126-120 triumph against Brooklyn. Charlotte (32-34) had its bid for a third straight win denied by the Nets on Tuesday as it suffered a 132-121 setback at home.

Tipoff at the Spectrum Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Boston is a 7.5-point favorite in the latest Celtics vs. Hornets odds from Caesars Sportsbook, while the over-under for total points scored is 226 (see up-to-date odds for every game this week on our NBA odds page).

Before making any Hornets vs. Celtics picks, you NEED to check out the NBA predictions from the SportsLine Projection Model.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit for $100 players on its top-rated NBA picks over the past three-plus seasons. The model entered Week 20 of the 2021-22 NBA season on a stunning 74-47 roll on all top-rated NBA picks, returning almost $2,100. Anyone following it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows Jayson Tatum is coming off his best offensive effort of the season as he went 8-for-15 from beyond the arc against Brooklyn en route to 54 points. The 24-year-old small forward scored 34 of them in the second half as he posted the sixth 50-point performance of his career, including playoffs, and second against the Nets. Tatum finished with 41 points in Boston's first visit to Charlotte this season, a 140-129 overtime victory on Oct. 25.

The model also knows the Hornets allowed an opponent to reach the 50-point plateau on Tuesday as Brooklyn's Kyrie Irving hit the mark by going 15-for-19 overall and 9-for-12 from 3-point range. Miles Bridges, who leads Charlotte in scoring with an average of 19.9 points, and Terry Rozier each scored 30 in the loss for Charlotte. It was the second straight 30-point effort for Rozier, who has gone 16-for-28 from beyond the arc over his last three contests.

Now, it has set its sights on Celtics vs. Hornets. We can tell you the model is leaning Under the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits over 50 percent of the time! You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in any NBA picks.
