After a low-scoring affair at the season opener, the PGA Tour remains in Hawaii for the 2025 Sony Open. Heading to Honolulu and Waialae Country Club, a full field will take to the par-70 in search of starting their new year off on the right foot. While some from the Sentry travel back to the continental United States, others have remained in the Aloha State.

Chief among them is Sentry winner Hideki Matsuyama. Now the seventh player in the history of the PGA Tour to win both events in Hawaii, the 11-time winner now seeks his second tournament title at the Sony Open. Wielding a new putter effectively at Kapalua, Matsuyama headlines a field that includes many of his playing competitors from last week such as Corey Conners, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley and Maverick McNealy. Matsuyama won this event in 2022 and is the +900 favorite (risk $100 to win $900) in the 2025 Sony Open odds. He's going off at +125 (risk $100 to win $125) to finish inside the top 10. 

Bradley is among the favorites one year after falling in a playoff to Grayson Murray and Byeong-Hun An, who is also in the field. They are among the notables that also include Tom Kim, Si Woo Kim, Sahith Theegala, Taylor Pendrith, J.T. Poston and Davis Thompson. With the first full-field event also comes the introduction of PGA Tour rookies from both the DP World Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour who hope to begin their careers on the big stage with a big bang.
