2025 NCAA Tournament East Region breakdown: Cinderella, bracket buster, Final Four pick
The East region has two of the top teams in college basketball this season with top seed Duke and No. 2 seed Alabama on opposite ends of the bracket. The Blue Devils ended the season ranked No. 1 with freshman sensation Cooper Flagg leading the way, while Alabama's offensive machine scored 90+ points 18 times, despite facing the toughest schedule in the country.
Injuries could play a factor with the top seeds. Flagg injured his ankle in the ACC Tournament but is expected back some time this week. It didn't get as much media attention, but Alabama is also dealing with a key injury to Grant Nelson. Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats said Nelson may not play in the opening round, but they dodged a serious injury and he is expected to return soon.
The East region feels a little top heavy with Wisconsin being a No. 3 seed and Arizona grabbing a No. 4. Here is a breakdown of the East, from a potential Cinderella to a Final Four pick.
