2024 Sun Belt futures odds: Conference winner picks, top longshots, win total best bets and more to know
Unlike many other conferences, the Sun Belt Conference will look exactly the same in 2024 as it did last year, with both divisions intact with seven teams apiece. The Troy Trojans are aiming for their third consecutive conference title and ninth overall after defeating the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (2022) and Appalachian State Mountaineers (2023) in the last two championship games.
The Trojans are expected to take a step back in the West Division this year, however, as they return only a handful of starters from last year's squad and have a new head coach in Gerad Parker. The Texas State Bobcats and Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are among the favorites in the West, while Appalachian State - which resides in the East Division - is a team that is considered by many to capture its fifth Sun Belt title and the 23rd conference crown in program history.
Coastal Carolina and the UL Monroe Warhawks begin their 2024 season on Aug. 29 against Jacksonville State and Jackson State, respectively, while the remaining 12 Sun Belt teams open the campaign two days later.
