2024 College football betting strategy: Proven expert shares top situational spots for Week 5

SportsLine college football analyst Josh Nagel has revealed his top spot play for Week 5 of the 2024 college football season

Last week, we hit our top situational play as the Navy Midshipmen (+9.5) pulled an outright 56-44 upset over a Memphis team that was coming off its upset of Florida State, the program's biggest win in recent memory. The Tigers played reasonably well in compiling 659 yards of total offense, but Navy's offense was unstoppable once it got flowing and it made one late defensive stop to seal the victory. Our secondary play on Youngstown State (+36.5) blew up in flames when the Penguins proved surprisingly incompetent, with numerous blunders that gave Pitt short fields in the first half and the Panthers rolled to a comically easy 73-17 victory to cover the massive spread.

For Week 5 of the 2024 college football season, there are a couple of situational spots we have identified that appear favorable but one that stands out above the rest. We might add another play or two in this space later this week, but for now we'll reveal the top play below.
